The NWBO would like to spotlight Mrs. Laketta Hayden Gill, the Visionary Behind Elite Hair & Beauty Supply LLC.
Laketta Gill was born in Aberdeen and raised in Columbus, Mississippi, Laketta Gill’s journey is defined by growth, grit, and a 25-year legacy in the retail industry. A proud graduate of Columbus High School and an alumna of East Mississippi Community College and Gibson Cosmetology School, Laketta climbed the corporate ladder from an entry-level associate to a Store Manager.
In 2019, she channeled that expertise into her own venture: Elite Hair & Beauty Supply LLC. What began as a foundation for excellence expanded into a thriving online destination in 2022 with a brick & mortar coming soon!
Laketta is a certified Cranial Prosthesis Specialist (Medical Wigs) , offering restorative beauty solutions with HIPAA-certified care.Driven by her motto—“If you want something you’ve never had, you have to do something you’ve never did”
—Laketta has expanded the Elite brand to include everything from premium raw bundles, signature Elite 3D lashes to braiding hair, 40oz tumblers, & handcrafted custom necklace ties. Her commitment to excellence has earned her numerous accolades, including being a two time Gulf Coast 100 Successful Women Noimmee for two consecutive years (2025-2026), NWBO 2025 runner up for Bussiness Woman of the Year, and 2026 M3 Picked on Purpose nominee. Laketta has volunteered with the NWBO out reach program for domestic violence, completed the Beauty Supply 2.0 compressive 8-week program, & she's also a content creator!
Beyond her business, Laketta serves as a independent, certifed, & dedicated Personal Caregiver Assistant (PCA), providing vital support to the elderly. She balances her professional drive with her most cherished roles: being a wife, a mother of three, and a grandmother of six. Laketta lives by a simple, powerful rule: Mind the business that pays you and invest in the community that sustains you!
